Dr. Dimitar Vasilev

Dr Dimitar Vassilev graduated from the Medical University in Varna in 2000. He holds a speciality in psychiatry since 2006 and a master’s degree in health management since 2012. He has specialised in the field of transcranial magnetic stimulation (ТМS) and electroencephalography for diagnosing and treatment of CNS disorders. Dr. Vassilev has completed courses in brief psychoanalytic therapy, trainings in psychosocial rehabilitation, motivational interviewing, etc.

Dr. Vassilev has worked as a general practitioner for six years. He is the manager of Medical centre Terapia 2007 - Varna since its opening in 2007 and leads a drug addiction treatment programme there.

He has published articles in national and international journals and participated in national and international scientific events.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Tsvetelina Tarpomanova, PhD

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tsvetelina Tarpomanova, PhD graduated from the Medical University in Varna in 1994. She holds a speciality in psychiatry since 2001, a doctoral degree since 2012 and a second specialty in child and adolescent hygiene since 2022. She has completed courses in positive psychotherapy, psychosomatic medicine and transcultural psychiatry at the German Society for Positive Psychology (DGPP) (1997-1999); attended addiction treatment trainings at the University of California, San Diego (2001), trainings in psychosocial rehabilitation, motivational interviewing, brief interventions for substance abuse, etc.

For 12 years she has been a manager of the Mental Health Centre-Varna where she was the head of a treatment and rehabilitation programme for drug addicted people and a project of Varna Municipality on prevention of aggression in school age. Assoc. Prof. Tarpomanova is a lecturer at the Medical University of Varna.

She has published two monographs ‘Social aspects of methadone treatment in Bulgaria’ and ‘Aggression in school age –a challenge for parents and teachers’ and over 70 articles in national and international scientific journals. She has participated in more than 50 international and national scientific forums.
